1/13/10 - Lou Lamoriello, Pat Burns, Eric Tillman, Mark Cohon

Host: Bob McCown
Co-Host: John Shannon
Guests: Jack Armstrong, basketball analyst and co-host of "The Game Plan" on THE FAN 590, Lou Lamoriello, New Jersey Devils president and GM; NHL commentator for NBC and Versus, Ed Olczyk, Commissioner of the CFL, Mark Cohon; Jerry Colangelo, Phoenix Suns chair and CEO; Canadian lawn bowling team captain Steve McKerihen.

Lamoriello - CLASSIC! Good to hear Pat Burns is doing well. I wonder why McCown doesn't take the opportunity to challenge Lou a bit more when given the opportunity to speak to him. Most of the interview comprised of 'same-old' content regarding the recent power outage that caused a game to be continued at a later date. Why not question how the Devils, as good as they have historically have been, continue to draw such miserable numbers at the gate? At the time of this post, the Devils are 22nd in home attendance.

Cohon spoke about backing Tillman, and primarily backing the Judge on the case and using the Judge's ruling for the rest of league. This was not an easy decision, nor topic to speak of, particularly due to Tillman's likeability prior to the incident. If it were me, I'd have followed Bobcat's suggestion of suspending him for a year and come back after the 'reflection' Tillman needs to do has had a chance to even begin.

If you are looking here for a lawn bowling review, forget it. C'mon Bobcat? In Prime Time?? (Didn't even both listening!) I hope it's another 20 years before lawn bowling comes up again!

Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 (5:00-7:00)

Host: Bob McCown
Co-Host: Stephen Brunt
Guests: Nick Kypreos, Chris Polian, Lou Lamoriello, Darren Rovell, John Ourlan.

Geez Brunt - that IS a huge wallet!!

Congrats to Lamoriello. The listeners got a great glimpse into how Lou has become so successful. If the Devils can do it, there should be no reason other teams can't be as successful, provided they have someone with the vision and commitment Lou has. …and therein lies the difference between the success of the Devils compared to so many other teams.

"Even though this game is more difficult with regards to the CBA, etc, hopefully we'll never have to go through another re-building situation. Foremost, you recognize this is a team game and you can’t let your fellow players down. You should never, never allow yourself to have to look yourself in the mirror and feel you let the team your down. Players can't cheat yourself - whatever god has given you, and your parents have given you, that's something you were born with. If you don't cheat yourself, I know you won't cheat the organization and cheat the people that are given you the opportunities. I'd summarize it in 3 words - Loyalty. Work ethic. Being competent." Hell, I was motivated by Lou's words to type that all out. Very inspiring words, even outside of hockey.

For the greatest laugh, check out the Rovell interview, especially about food eating competitions…funny, funny stuff!

Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown: Thursday, April 30 (5:00-7:00)

Host: Bob McCown
Co-Host: Jim Kelley
Guests: President of the Indianapolis Colts, Bill Polian; Lou Lamoriello, New Jersey Devils president, CEO, and general manager; ESPN's Dan Shulman; Tom Pedulla, writer for USA Today; chief operating officer for the CFL, Michael Copeland

As a fan of the Sens who has seen the Devils eliminate us in a Game #7, I wasn't unhappy at the Devils go through the same fate.

I can go either way with the steroid issue in baseball. I can get worked up about it and interested in nailing every A-Roid and Bonds. At the same time, I can watch my beloved Jays and not even ask the question. Am I getting to be like most of the public and trying desperately to forget about the steroid era? Do I need blatant reminders like what will happen on Monday with A-Roid? I think the later is true.

The comparison between McCown and a certain Doctor on Fox is growing with the news today that Bobcat plays a mean guitar!!!
