One of the readers commented that Bob seems "bored by it all." I think that is a fair assessment. I get the sense especially over the past year, that Bobcat is going through the motions. Maybe it's Kelley (although he'd never say it.) McCown seems genuinely engaged in the discussion when Brunt is around. Their conversations are truly legendary! In fact, the discussion that often occurs from 5:00-6:00 between the two are often McCown's most energized discussion.
What do you guys think? I'll open the comments for the next two weeks and see if people around here wish to discuss...if not, bye bye comments!

Thanks for the link to Zelkovic's column. I agree w/ your thought about Brunt. My fav panel member is James Deacon. He's insightful, challenges McCown & think Bobcat actually respects his opinion.
ReplyDeleteI like Deacon, but Brunt is still the best. It's like two guys fighting at a bar, except only one is drunk (Brunt), one does a good job hiding it (Brunt again), and the other has no idea the guys he's fighting with is drunk (McCown).

Basically, Brunt, Kirke and Deacon are good and many of the others are not the best / won't take strong positions. I wish they would put the five o'clock hour on podcast too as I suspect that is often the more entertaining hour - even though the heavy hitter guests are mostly on the 6pm hour.
ReplyDeleteI actually did ask PTS if they would consider the podcast of 5-6 (currently they only do this on Fridays for some mysterious reason!)
