Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown: Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 (6:00-7:00)

Host: Bob McCown
Co-Host: Jim Kelley
Guests: Executive Vice President of CanWest Global Communications, David Asper; Darren Rovell of CNBC; Glen Crouter, VP of media relations for Woodbine Entertainment Group

Asper has secured funding to get a CFL stadium built for Winnipeg. This is a model to follow that successfully brought in different levels of government funding as well as Civic support for a facility (anyone in Ottawa paying attention?)

I am a follower of Darren Rovell based on his past interviews with Bob McCown. Check out his blog, Sports Biz. He was the first to report on the Fifth Third Burger, from a minor league baseball club in the US. Great interview! Here is a photo of the burger he assembled himself:
Ingredients:
  • specially made bun - 8 inch
  • 5 hamburgers
  • tomatoes
  • 3 bags of fritos
  • hot cheese
  • jalapeƱo
  • 5 pieces of cheese (this is in addition to the 'hot cheese'!)
  • chili
  • salsa
  • 744mg Cholestrol
  • 10,000mg of sodium
  • 354 Carbs
  • 199g Saturated fat -6x the suggest daily allowance
Best lines from the show:
"...but in spite of all of the above, there's still no trans fat (just joking) - Rovell
"Michael Vick is going to enter (the burger) into a fight" - Kelley
